Thank you for doing this article. I am always happy to see that someone will take the time to present home inventory pros and cons of doing it yourself or having a professional do it for you.

We own a home inventory [contact information deleted]. We are a full service documentation company. We video tape the inside and outside of your home, digital photograph stills of each room and individual high ticket items and collections as well as document makes, models and serial numbers. We put this all on cd and print form, and will keep it secure in a local safety deposit box for you if you choose.

We live in the Tornado alley path and have seen great damage to homes over the last year to tornados. Fires, floods and theft are also a good argument for making sure you have a current inventory as well. Don't wait till it's too late!
