USAA Insurance

From LoveToKnow Insurance

If you have never heard of USAA insurance most likely it means one of two things: either you have no affiliation with the United States Armed Forces or you have never taken the time to compare various insurance companies in a quest to find the most highly rated organizations. USAA is a force to be reckoned with among insurance providers, but not everyone is eligible to get insurance through USAA.

Membership Has Its Privileges

USAA is more than just an insurance provider. This company also has a banking section, financial advisors, real estate locator services, and even dabbles in fine jewelry and discount florist services. Members have full access to the vast offerings of this company, and members also have a say in how the company is run since there are proxy votes mailed to each member whenever an important decision is to be made. USAA even deposits a percentage of profits into Subscriber Savings Accounts, which are accounts created by the company for each member. So members not only get the best policies around through USAA insurance, but they can also use their memberships to access all sorts of other perks.

Who can join USAA? Potential members need to have either served in the United States Armed Forces or in certain ROTC programs. Spouses and children of USAA members are also automatically eligible to join.

The Big Deal About USAA Insurance

USAA offers more than one type of insurance:

  • Auto insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Disability insurance
  • Homeowners insurance
  • Renters insurance
  • Certain types of business insurances

Not only does USAA offer exceptional service and around the clock availability, but they also manage all this while boasting a superior ranking among all other insurance providers worldwide. Obviously when a consumer obtains USAA insurance, he or she can be fairly sure that this particular insurance provider is not a fly-by-night organization. There is always someone answering the phone at USAA, and the person is usually friendly and knowledgeable.

Attractive Insurance Rates

Some consumers could care less about customer service and all the other extras that are available through this company and, instead, are solely concerned with the USAA insurance rates. Yes, USAA insurance rates are incredibly low when compared with other insurance providers. USAA has the ability to keep their insurance rates low for several reasons, not the least of which is that they do not necessarily need to spend a lot of cash on advertising.

Virtually every military member hears about USAA at one time or another, and since this particular subculture is USAA’s primary focus, there is simply no need to release television commercials or explore other costly marketing schemes. With over five million members and tens of billions of dollars in assets, this word of mouth marketing tactic evidently works for USAA.

Obtaining a Quote Is Easy

USAA makes it simple for potential members to obtain insurance quotes. USAA’s website is incredibly simple to navigate and offers step by step instructions on how to find out eligibility requirements and request an insurance rate quote. Customer service representatives are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to offer insurance quotes over the telephone. USAA is quite prompt in their service; they will provide a quote, issue a policy, and even immediately fax or e-mail the insurance paperwork, making it a painless process. For consumers who are used to being treated poorly by an insurance company, this sort of treatment may take some getting used to.

USAA Offers Continued Service

USAA members often find their insurance needs changing. Big life events such as marriage, the birth of a baby, or divorce can all affect certain insurance needs. USAA insurance is designed to meet the needs of members through every stage of life, whether it is a car insurance policy for a teen’s first car or an annuities plan for a person nearing retirement. USAA has the potential, and ability, to be a person’s first and last insurance company. Not all insurance companies can make such a claim, but USAA has proven itself time and again to be some of the best insurance available.

LTC March,

An insurance company cannot cancel your policy or deny you coverage just because you don't sign the proxy. By not signing the proxy you are just losing your chance to vote on company issues.

Good point about the proxy, but I tend to just sign those things and give in to the Power. Otherwise, they may start canceling your poly or denying coverage.
