Mercury Insurance Coverage Information

The four major coverage types Mercury Insurance offers are commercial auto insurance, homeowner’s insurance, umbrella, and mechanical breakdown.

Commercial Auto Insurance

Commercial auto insurance offered by Mercury has several benefits. They include having local agents available for your needs, and competitive pricing. Niche market specialization with Mercury allows for proper claims, underwriting and special needs of certain insured vehicles and companies. Mercury Insurance also received high ratings from A.M. Best, an insurance rating company.

Homeowners Insurance

Homeowners who hold insurance with Mercury enjoy several benefits. First of all, discounts are available if personal autos are insured with Mercury. The company prides itself on competitive pricing. Mercury offers local agents to handle all questions, claims, and coverage changes. Replacement coverage is also offered.

Umbrella Insurance

Umbrella insurance is a type of insurance that covers things not in an automobile or homeowner’s policy. Umbrella protects your personal assets in unexpected events and accidents, such as falls, animal bites, and personal liability in auto accidents. Civil lawsuits can cost millions of dollars, especially in future earnings. Umbrella insurance is used to protect yourself from that possibility. Insurance coverage is offered to qualified persons in amounts of 1 million, 2 million, and 5 million dollars, often for only several hundred dollars a year.

Mechanical Breakdown Coverage

Mechanical breakdown coverage is offered by Mercury Insurance through American Mercury Insurance. For qualified new and used vehicles, no limits apply to the amount of claims that you can file. Low deductibles apply, and some options are covered even when a vehicle warranty is still in place.

Special Website Features

Mercury offers online quotes for automobile insurance. Phone numbers for customer service in each state Mercury is available are listed, as well as phone numbers for their 24-hour claims information. Phone numbers and addresses for payment centers can also be found online.

Additionally, there are several articles regarding insurance tips and safety available for everyone.

Those interested in investing in Mercury Insurance (known as MCY on the New York Stock Exchange) can request an investor package. Mercury has over three billion dollars in assets, and is a leading auto insurer in California. The company also investigates fraud, saving customers millions.

Finding an insurance company that works with your unique needs is important, in both personal and business areas of life. With a high-rated company, you can be sure that your needs will be taken care of professionally and promptly. Investigating and comparing different insurance companies like Mercury Insurance can help make finding the right company for you easier than ever.

Comments

It is common for an insurance company to have an insured agree to not let roommates use the insured's car. If you didn't agree to this, the insurance company would need to raise your premium in order to cover their increased risk.

Your insurance company may feel the same way with your live-in fiance. However, since he is also insured by the same insurance company you might have some additional options. You could: 1) Add him to your insurance as a second driver. (This may increase your premium. If he does not have a good driving record, your insurance cost could increase significantly.); 2) Get a quote on having a two-driver policy to replace your two single-driver policies (If you decide not to get married or live together you would probably end up cancelling this two-driver policy.)

Contact Mercury and discuss your options with them. They will be able to help you sort through your options.

When I had roomates, they were not allowed to use my vehicle because I signed a do...ent stating they would not be covered. If I am living with my fiance who is also insured under Mercury Insurance for his vehicle and he drives my vehicle on occasion I want him covered. Would he be covered and how would that effect my insurance?
