About Aetna Health Insurance
Aetna Life Insurance Company was established in 1850. Inspired by Mt. Etna, an 11,000-foot tall volcano on the shores of Sicily, company founders chose the name Aetna for what was once a fledgling venture.
The company grew quickly and began offering health insurance policies by the year 1899. Today, Aetna is one of the nation’s leading and most well-known health insurance companies, selling products in all 50 states. According to their mission statement, Aetna is dedicated to “providing easy access to safe, cost-effective, high-quality health care”.

Comments
Irene,
I am assuming from your comment that the check was not made out to your company. If it was, you could just endorse the check over to the patient.
If the check was made out to a different company than yours, I think a good place to start would be for you to recommend to the patient that they call the 1-800-MY-HEALTH number and asked an Aetna sales representative to connect you with the claims department. They can explain to the patient why the check was made out to the company and not to the patient. It is very possible that the company filed for the reimbursement and thus would be sent the check. After the company receives the check they can arrange to make a credit on the patient's bill.
Thank you for your question and for visiting LoveToKnow Insurance.
-- Contributed by: SusanWeberI work for a chiropractor and one of his patients should of received a reimbursement check due to her. But I have a check in my possession made out to a company and not her. I have no idea how to get this resolved and who to contact for help. If you could give me any assistance and/or point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thank you and Have a Good Day!
