AAA Homeowners Insurance
From LoveToKnow Insurance
AAA homeowners insurance comes from a widely-recognized company that is generally regarded as reliable and trustworthy. This insurance is available to American Automobile Association (AAA) members and includes a wide variety of available coverage.
Membership
AAA offers plenty of different services, but these services are only available to members of the organization. This company charges an annual fee for membership, but the cost is relatively low when compared to the potential savings available to AAA members. In order to apply for homeowners insurance through AAA and receive the potential discounts, applicants must possess AAA membership.
AAA Homeowners Insurance Options
AAA homeowners insurance is not issued directly through AAA, but instead is a collaborative effort between AAA and several reputable insurance companies. These companies team up to offer reduced rates for members. Typical homeowner coverage available to members includes:
- Single family dwellings
- Multi-unit dwellings
- Townhouses
Homeowners insurance is designed to protect homeowners from a myriad of issues:
- Damage to the home as a result of a natural disaster
- Damage to the home as a result of theft or vandalism
- Replacement of personal property if irrevocably damaged by a covered situation
- Liability coverage in the instance of a lawsuit pertaining to an injury occurring on the property
Not all potential instances for damage to the home are typically covered by AAA insurance policies for homes. Additional coverage can be purchased for:
- Damage to the home as a result of a flood
- Damage to the home as a result of a plumbing problem within the home
- Damage to the home as a result of an earthquake
- Damage to expensive personal property including:
- Pieces of art
- Computer systems
- Jewelry
- Other items requiring additional coverage
There are other policies available to cover a variety of needs. Speaking with a AAA insurance representative is the best way to figure out exactly what coverage you need and for what amounts.
Homeowners Insurance Quotes
Obtaining a quote from AAA is not difficult. Members can contact AAA over the telephone or submit a request for a quote online. The form for a quote request is simple to navigate, but it does require a significant amount of information. Be sure to have the following information handy before logging on to fill out a quote request:
- Your contact information
- Your AAA membership number
- Details of any homeowners insurance claims made in the last three years
- Details of the home including:
- Market value of the home
- Amount of cumulative mortgages owed on the home
- Any special security features installed in the home, such as burglar alarms or security systems
- Square footage and number of rooms
- Dates of recent major repairs and improvements, such as a new roof or upgraded plumbing
- Specifics of any insurance policies you currently have on the home
- Details of any special items for which you may need additional coverage
Although the quote request form may seem like an excessively lengthy questionnaire, it’s important to remember that AAA can give a more accurate quote when the form is filled out completely and accurately. There are several factors that insurance companies consider when figuring out the cost of premiums on a homeowners insurance policy. The more information you give, the more likely the company can find a way to save you some money.
Importance of Accuracy
The insurance companies that partner with AAA have methods to check the accuracy of an application for coverage, so do not attempt to hide the fact that you have made homeowners insurance claims in the past. All this will do is delay your coverage.
Quote Results
After you fill out a homeowners insurance quote request through the AAA website you will be contacted by a representative within one business day, unless your request is incomplete. If the application does not have all the requested information it may take longer to process.
The AAA representative contacting you will discuss the homeowner insurance options available to you.

A couple of months later they came back saying they had "rated" our home with the wrong code. They needed to up our rate by several hundred dollars and were demanding payment. We went to Allstate after only 6 months with AAA, and AAA is refusing any refund of our premium. Also, they gave me a big runaround about scheduling my wedding ring. I had to make 3 trips to their office for photos of it, then to the jeweler for a "new" appraisal. And after all that, they didn't even put it on the policy! They don't know what they are doooooooing. And we want our refund!
